Denver Parks and Recreation partners with Denver Botanic Gardens for
annual “Spring into Health” event on Tuesday, June 1
The annual SPRING INTO HEALTH and the Mayor’s Walk fitness celebration for older
adults will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at the Denver Botanic Gardens located at 909 York Street.
Attendees will enjoy a beautiful setting while experiencing fitness demonstrations such as Tai Chi and Pilates. The event will offer health screenings, including Spirometer testing and Electrical Impedance testing as well as blood pressure checks. Sessions on Osteoporosis Prevention & Treatment and the Difference between Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia will also be offered.
Event highlights include a one-mile walk beginning at 11:15 a.m., led by Mayor Hickenlooper, through the Gardens and Cheesman Park, and a chair massage to finish off the day.
Other event partners include Secure Horizons/PacifiCare, KEZW AM 1430, Sunrise Senior Living Cherry Creek, RTD SeniorRide, Tai Chi Project, Denver Commission on Aging and AARP.
RTD SeniorRide will provide transportation for groups of 10 or more at a cost of $1.25 per

A fee of $10 includes admission, sessions, T-shirt, and snack pack. Space is limited, so
