I would very much appreciate getting trees to plant in our back yard to hide the view of the school. I voiced my concern at the meeting we had last year when they said that it would not impact our view - yet it has impacted our view. I also said that it would increase the number of students and traffic entering and leaving our neighborhood via Henderson Morley, and that has also happened. I cannot even get to my home at 3PM because the traffic is backed up past French Oak. The traffic, especially the buses also park on our common area grounds and kill the grass. They also cause deep tire track ruts in the ground and they speed and run red lights. Speeding is another issue altogether. Every other school zone I have seen post a 20 MPH speed zone and everyone slows down and adheres to it, but our 35 MPH school speed zone is ignored by almost everyone, present company excluded. Are we going to have to lose one of our children before we can get the county to put up a sign that does not cost more than a few hundred dollars? Trees are definitely needed, but a 20 MPH school speed zone and a limit on the number of kids attending the schools in our neighborhood are also of paramount importance.
