Overland Neighborhood Association (ONA)
Minutes of 10/25/07 Meeting
Call to Order (CTO) by President Catherine Sandy at 6:50pm at John Collins Church, 2320 S. Bannock.
Present: Catherine Sandy, Jennifer Pollock, Charley Samson, Lois Strohmeyer, James Sample, Ray Ehrenstein, Rudy and Dagmar Ortiz, Lily, Ronnie Crawford, Jack Unruh, Paul Weber, Cat, Margot, Chris Nevitt.
With the pot luck and the World Series as distractions, the minutes of last month??™s meeting were approved, as was Treasurer Lois Strohmeyer's report ($1339.60 in the bank).
Pres. Sandy attended the "Safe Routes to Schools" meeting, and brought flyers for a program that "will probably take three years to implement."
Jack noted the Evans Light Rail Station Area Plan, John Cook's development plans for the Shattuck site and the Kroonenberg property, as well as the 15-year "immediate need" designation for the Iliff bridge. Jennifer said Bike Denver was "not enthused" about the bridge. Cat said she was "completely opposed" to the bridge, fearing it would violate the Southwest Quadrant's status as a "pristine area." Margot said she hoped that improvements to or replacement of the Evans Bridge would make an Iliff bridge unnecessary. Sandy suggested a meeting of interested Southwest Quadrant folk. Nevitt said the City will be convening a meeting of parties interested in the "forgotten Light Rail Stations" (Alameda and Evans), and that ONA would "have a place at the table."
Sandy noted that Xcel has paid $100,00 to the City.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:37pm, followed by a discussion of cures for graffiti.
