Minutes of 6/26/08 Meeting
Call to Order (CTO) by President Catherine Sandy at 6:40pm at John Collins Church, 2320 S. Bannock.
Present: Marianne Le Clair, Neddra Niblet, Chris Nevitt, Marilyn Lager, Cherye Pittman, Mary Ann McCann, Marlane Brewer, Ronnie Crawford, Ray Ehrenstein, Kathleen Jackson, Eric Jacobsen, Jennifer Redes, Kevin Dickson, Arlene Lipman, David Lipmann, Emily Carrigan, Caitlin Carrigan, Diane Inscoe, Shari Lamb, Joe Marcus, Belin Fieldson, James Sample, Charley Samson, Catherine Sandy.
Due to possible impeachable offenses by both Treasurer and Secretary, reports from neither were read.
Marianne Le Clair, Denver Urban Renewal Authority (DURA) representative, spoke about the city's Rehab Program.
Neddra Niblet, from the City's anti-graffiti task force, spoke about the program, and passed out authorization forms. She can be reached at 720-913-7541, or the direct anti-graffiti hotline at 720-865-STOP, or dial 311 to report graffiti. Arlene mentioned West High School's effort to turn taggers into artists.
Councilman Chris Nevitt noted the Police Athletic League's $5 million grant from the Daniels Fund, and the City's dessire to invest in facilities, especially Valverde and Harvard Gulch parks. He also mentioned possible permanent stanchions at Ruby Hill Rail Yard for a snowboard park. Denver Public Schools have hired the Urban Land Institute to consult on the disposition of 20 DPS properties.
Kevin Dickson said Swallow Hill is interested in forming an arts consortium.
