We do appreciate your watching out for your neighbors, and as an animal lover myself with family that works with rescuing just such animals, I totally understand your intentions were nothing but good.
As Admin of our website, however, it is important to me that the correct information be noted in any discussion that might affect our own neighbors, and if that information is incorrect that I do my best to be sure it is addressed and corrected. If you felt attacked in some way, I apologize. The exclamation point was more for emphasis to our entire neighborhood, not directed at you personally, so as not to have residents panic.
Unfortunately, since you have made your contact information private, I was unable to contact you directly to let you know that this information was incorrect and tell you that I was asking the webhost to delete the post. We just do not want to avoid unnecessary worry caused by the posting (well meaning as it may be), especially for any of the elderly neighbors in or around the Mint Hill area.
Please note that these discussions are public and can be seen by all who log in from several neighborhood websites. Your post did not specify in which neighborhood you reside or where the information was obtained. Our neighborhood crime watch group receives bulletins about such things from the Mint Hill PD. We had not received any bulletin, so after seeing this post, we contacted them to confirm and were told this was absolutely not the case in Mint Hill. And that they have had no such reports. I cannot say if this is true about the other places you mentioned.
Again, I thank you for watching out for your fellow neighbors and hope that you continue to do so. Everyone should be diligent in supervising their pets.
