I want announce to the PATA WEB site, that last week I filed a complaint with the Fairfield county Board of Elections.

My two questions of them are first why didn?’t the 4 city council incumbents file the required pre-election reports. Even if they had signed a waiver indicating that they were not going to spend more than $2,000 they still must file if they had contributions from any one person, including themselves, of $100 or more. Clearly they had their signs out by October 7th 2001. That would have been at least 10 days before the October 18th deadline.

The second question is the mailer that the Pickerington Republican Club mailed out to the registered Republicans on November 3rd 2001. Any political organization must appoint (designate) a treasurer before they can accept or spend money. The treasurer then is responsible for the reporting to the local board of elections. The treasurer, Ed Laramee, reports that he didn?’t have knowledge of this mailer yet whoever mailed it indicated that he did. There is credible evidence that Mr. Laramee didn?’t have knowledge because his street address was wrong. We must give Mr. Laramee credit for knowing what street he lived on. If Mr. Laramee?’s account of October 18th is correct then clearly those that produced that document were trying to mislead the registered Republicans here in the Pickerington Area. So whoever paid for this mailing should have indicated their name and not used the false name of the Pickerington Republican Club. I think there is fraud in only four members (two of whom were candidates) of this Republican Club endorsing anyone in a non-partisan election.

Now lets see the wheels of justice turn.

Campaign Financing

Ted,

Do you have the thick book from the Fairfield County Board of Elections regarding campaign financing and reporting? I suggest you read it if you do. If you don't, you can borrow mine.

Please keep us up-to-date on the status of your compliant filed with the Fairfield County Board of Elections.

In addition, for PATA's sake and Ed Laramee's, the less said about the now infamous November 4th letter probably the better again for PATA and Ed Laramee's sake. It is apparent from his November 4th letter that he was still the Treasurer on November 3rd when the mailing was made. In addition, there is no requirement that a political action committee's or a campaign's committee treasurer must approve mailings before hand or for that matter approve any expenditure.

Please Ted read your campaign finance book and keep us up-to-date on the status of your compliant.

Mark - BE HONEST !!!

As a member of the Republican Party & a resident who received the mailing from the ''Pickerington Area Republican Club'' I was offended for a few reasons.

1. Not all Republican candidates were represented - I believe this would make people believe that candidates that weren't listed might not be Republican.......
2. This was not an information guide that it appeared to be - it was mis-information trying to get Republican Voters to vote only for select Republican Candidates !!

That might not have bothered me so much but in the same letter they attempt to solicit funds which are obviously NOT used to promote all Republican candidates, but for personal agendas - don't ask for my money for that !!

While I appreciate Doug Parker's right to have an opinion as to whom should be elected - he's not invited into the voting booth with me !! As the head of this group this mailing made me question his ethics. And thought if anything the Pickerington Republican Club should be reported to the Better Business Bureau !!
