Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

To hell with us all

Posted in: PATA
This is in response to Anonymous and Violet?’ postings below.

Men are from Mars, women are from Venus and almost every person in the City government is from HELL. Anonymous, you apparently have information to share and stories to tell. Well, let them fly. Open the eyes of the voters to what is going on at the Lockville Road Funny Farm. Don?’t be shy. Some of us have known all along. We just didn?’t have the inside information you do. Give the voters examples of what a bunch of LOSERS we employ.

I mention VOTERS here because someone has to get their attention. If no one gets their attention, you know what? We?’ll be stuck with these Bozos forever. If no one steps forward and says ?“I?’m mad as hell and I?’m not going to take it anymore!?” and runs against the Bozos this fall, we?’re screwed. Even worse than we are now.

Don?’t despair Anonymous, there is help out there. http://www.ethics.state.oh.us/whowearehistory.html is a good place to start. Is what the Council of Clowns doing not seem just right? Is there even the perception of violation of the trust of the taxpayers?

ETHIC
Pronunciation: 'e-thik
Function: noun
1 plural but singular or plural in construction : the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation
2 a : a set of moral principles or values b : a theory or system of moral values c plural but singular or plural in construction : the principles of conduct governing an individual or a group d : a guiding philosophy

Please commit 2c to your memory. Commit it and recall it every time you think about what the Council of Clowns does. Annexations, rezonings, referendum subterfuge? They?’re so damn bold because no one will challenge them. Oh sure, people speak out in meetings, they used to write the occasional letter to the editor and one of them even goes on and on in this discussion board. Well, they?’re branded as Nazis, Communists, Stupid, Foolish, Troublemakers or Instigators-From-The-Township-Who-Don?’t-Matter-Anyway-Because-They?’re-Not-City-Residents.

Some have the courage to say ?“There?’s something not right about what is going on here.?” But so far, NO ONE has the grapefruits to stand ups and say ?“I?’ll make a difference!?”. More importantly, there aren?’t four like-minded citizens who have the testicular fortitude to stand together and say ?“TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE A CHANGE.?”

Anonymous, you are or maybe were a City employee or closely related to one. You know others. You know they have stories to tell. Encourage them. This discussion board can be completely anonymous. The instructions to do so are clear and easy to understand. Don?’t leave it to the soap box person to go on and on. We?’ll all tire of him or her soon enough and the message he or she is trying to get across will just get boring.

He or she was really right about one thing, though: it IS time for the truth to be told and it IS time for a change. Don?’t forget the reason that whole Citizens for a Strong Violet Pickerington group was founded ?– if the public opinion about the status quo government appears to be in jeopardy come time to announce candidacy for the fall elections, this group is perfectly willing to provide all the candidates necessary to assure that if the incumbents can?’t get reelected, at least there will be their clones ready, willing and able to step in and take over. And don?’t forget, former politicians from Pickerington never really go away, they just move further up the chain of command, right Pizza Man?

You know, there?’s not much going to be on the ballot this fall in good ol?’ Picktown EXCEPT the majority of the Council seats and opportunity to finally break the 3-2 deadlock that has gripped the School Board for what seems like forever. Voter turnout will undoubtedly be minimal. Maybe we should just call the whole thing off for lack of interest.

The truth

Yes, New Kid, everyone should know the truth...I couldn't agree more. Herr Bushman will find one day that what goes around comes around, and then she'll be gone. Despair not, New Kid, it WILL happen. Until then, city residents will have to endure her abuse, poor planning and exhorbitant salary (check into what many Central Ohio city managers who are much more competent and who run cities a lot larger than Pickerington make). So many things makes her regime so terrible, it is hard to list them all. By the way, she has a attitude of contempt toward city residents as well as township residents. She has been heard to call city residents ''hillbillies.'' By the way, Herr Bushman is from some dinky town near Canton, Ohio...not necessarily a cosmopolitan background...but hey, who's cares? She's got MONEY (but no class).

As to others telling their stories, I can't tell anyone what to do...particularly if they're still under Bushman's orbit and need their jobs. Most of them are decent people, they are just too terrorized to speak the truth. Some are, ''from hell'' as you put it...but most are just trying to keep the ax from falling on their necks. The unspoken rule at the Lockville Road Funny Farm is ''Don't dare have a differing opinion or try to change the status quo, or you are history.'' It's amazing how powerful that rule is to keep otherwise decent people silent. It's sick...and sad. But it will end one day. Even Hitler himself ended up drinking poison in a bunker...someday Herr Bushman...and her patsy mayor/council will get theirs. The real question is, will Pickerngton survive until that happens?
let's change our direction

Boy, the story gets more and more confused. As someone who ?“relocated?” to this area, I?’m befuddled. It seems that if any ?“new?” resident speaks out they get their neck chopped off. Well, in my view, everybody here is a transplant ?– unless they?’re a Native American ?– and it doesn?’t matter if they have a road or subdivision or some other chunk of dirt named after them or their family. What I can?’t understand is why all of us ?“transplants?” can?’t get together and use the wisdom and mistakes we have seen from places that we have lived before and not make this a better community.

Is it that the so-called ?“natives?” won?’t let new ideas prevail? Communities that strive to make employment opportunities for their residents, in the same places that they live do best. What is our problem in seeing that? Where are our job opportunities? I would sure like to get away from driving on the Interstate (or even fighting to get to the Interstate) and be in a comfortable 10 minute commute from home to work. My family would appreciate it too! I just can?’t make a decent wag in the limited businesses that this community has made available. It?’s time for a change, cause those that are making the decisions are blind to the problems.
