Since the PATA webmaster saw no problems with Voter's 10.26.2001 posting entitled The Truth Comes Out, I thought that it is important to help educate PATA members and maybe even the PATA webmaster on the subject.
It seems Voter doesn't understand the syndrome at all -- when he or she posted, ''Uher ... You keep mentioning fear and intimidation ... I think that is called Munchausen Syndrome. Actually I hope that the new Board, as a whole, stands up, folds their arms and turns their back to you the next time you speak at a meeting... but Munch (may I call you Munch?) ... From the Merek Manual, here is Munchausen's Syndrome (Hospital Hobos): Repeated fabrication of an illness, usually acute, dramatic, and convincing, by a person who wanders from hospital to hospital for treatment. In a further bizarre syndrome a child may be used as a surrogate patient. (This is referred to as ''Munchausen by proxy''.)
