Lisa,

Generally speaking, I am opposed to apartments and other high-density development within our school district, whether or not it is in the City of Columbus, City of Pickerington or Violet Township. I believe we have plenty of apartments in our community.

Please post or e-mail me more details about the apartments (numbers, specific areas, developers, etc, zoning requests, status in committee, etc) including the situation near the church/Spring Creek area, so I can speak more intelligently on the subject. In providing all of us with more details facts, please try to keep the ?‘editorial comments?’ ?‘emotional rhetoric?’ and ?‘labeling of individuals?’ to a minimum.

I too agree that the voters sent to our school board and to the leaders in the City of Pickerington a powerful message. The message to our school board is one of teamwork and cooperation?… Monhollen?’s huge margin of victory attests to this issue. The deep division is not acceptable. The teamwork/cooperation candidates nearly (or may have) swept the election. I believe the message sent to the leaders in Pickerington is to review practices and procedures to ensure public input ?… Shaver?’s first place votes demonstrates this message. Emergency legislation along with the four citizen-lead referendums and initiatives must be closely reviewed to ensure the public is not being shut out of the political process.

Now that the political season is over I think we should all try to find ways to work together in areas where we agree. Working together even if it is only on a very few issues will bring change quicker. I also believe that the name calling and emotional rhetoric ?– on both sides of the aisle ?– must be kept to a minimum.

I look forward to receive additional information on the proposed apartments in our community. Thank you.
