Mr. Uher,

I have been reading the postings on the PATA ?“discussion page?” for some time now. I can not believe how you have changed your attitude (i.e. rhetoric). Suddenly it seems you want to get along with everyone! Are you planning some sort of campaign in the future?

(A quote from you to Lisa Ross?’s PATA posting):
?“In providing all of us with more details facts, please try to keep the ?‘editorial comments?’ ?‘emotional rhetoric?’ and ?‘labeling of individuals?’ to a minimum.?” (Mark Uher 11/19/2001)

(A quote from your PATA Posting):
?“With all due respect, Lisa Ross and Bob Harding are the wrong leaders for PATA. They have no leadership experience and are very antagonistic. With them in charge, you will lose. Don?’t get me wrong, use their energies and the time they have to devote, but out of the sight of the public. I hope their egos won?’t stand in the way of a noble cause. Individuals with high self esteem understand their limitations and know how to best use their talents and skills.?” (Mark Uher 2/23/2001)

Since you no longer want emotional rhetoric, please allow me to ask these non-emotional rhetorical questions:

1.) How did you meet Mr. Berry?

2.) What is the nature of your relationship with Mr. Berry and Berry and Miller Construction?

3.) Whose idea was it to create the Citizens for a Strong Violet/Pickerington (PAC) Headed by you and co-chaired by Mr. Berry?

I want the best for our city and school district. I think a medium such as the PATA Website Discussion area offers residents a forum where they can speak without being told to shut up. I hope you continue to speak your mind and I encourage others to do so as well!

Thank you,

Tim Bryant

Tim,
Thanks for your questions and posting your name. I believe in my 11/9/01 posting I said that the campaign ?‘rhetoric?’ on both sides of the aisle must be kept to a minimum ?– particularly since the election season is now over. Maybe it is the pot calling the kettle black, but I also believe for change to occur in our community Bob Harding has to become less antagonistic.

I care what happens to our schools and am very much opposed to apartments.

To respond to your questions:
1.) How did you meet Mr. Berry? Daryl and I first met when I chaired the levy campaign in 1997 and he was the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce President at that time. In campaign ?‘school?’, experts teach that the first organized groups that a levy campaign should contact are the chamber of commerce, the various booster organizations and the various PTOs. I was following the book.

2.) What is the nature of your relationship with Mr. Berry and Berry and Miller Construction? We don?’t and never had a business or a social relationship. Since the 1997 campaign until we form our citizens group, we spoke on the phone maybe 3 or four times total and never met face to face.

3.) Whose idea was it to create the Citizens for a Strong Violet/Pickerington (PAC) Headed by you and co-chaired by Mr. Berry? It was my idea and it was my idea to invite Daryl to co-chair the group with me. He is a strong business leader in our community with very close ties to our Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce. The combination of my political passion and his unemotional business approach to problem solving is a good combination. The Citizens?’ group has done a lot to raise awareness about the need for cooperation among elected officials. Our job is nearly done. The rest must be done by the elected officials themselves.

Thank you for your encouragement that I continue to contribute to this website.
