I am absolutely shocked at comments that City Councilperson Dave Shaver made about former City Councilperson, Craig Maxey, and indirectly made about Jeff Fix, Bill Powers, Jim Brink, John Maurer, Bruce Rookstool and Ted Hackworth. According to Shaver, if you fall short of a few votes to get elected, you should never be appointed to the position three months after the election.

Sorry, Jeff Fix. If there was a vacancy as a Township Trustee and you were selected to fill the vacancy, the Trustees would be ?‘in effect advising the citizens that they are uninterested in their opinions.?’ Sorry, Ted Hackworth. I guess you won?’t ever be appointed as long as Shaver is on Council.

Apparently, Shaver needs to log onto Fairfield County Board of Elections website, before he continues to insult the 46% of the voters that cast ballot for Maxey. Here are the results:

Election Results for November 2001
Number of Registered Voters City of Pickerington: 6,564
Number of Voters Casting Ballots in 11/01: 1868 (28.46%)
David Shaver: 1,071 (57.3% of all Voters Cast a Ballot for Shaver)
Jeff Monebrake: 1,019 (54.6%)
William Wright: 901 (48.2%)
Doug Parker: 882 (47.2%)
Craig Maxey: 863 (46.2%)

I think Shaver owes an apology to the voters in Pickerington City J where Maxey received top place votes among the candidates. In that precinct, 57% voted for Maxey and only 36% voted for Shaver.

I think both Craig Maxey and Jeff Fix are upcoming, young, bright and talented individuals. I am most impressed that 46% and 43% respectively of the voters cast ballots for these talented younger individuals.

Finally, it is interested that the first meeting of the new Republican Club of Northwest Fairfield County was held in the law offices of David Shaver on January 3, 2002. It was at that time the club founders including Shaver decided that new members could not vote for a third of a year. It seems like Shaver likes to take voting rights away from citizens. Does Shaver think only attorneys ought to vote in America?

The February 5, 2002 City Council meeting should be interesting.

short memory

Mark

You seem to forget that Paul Woodruff lost in the prior election by way less than 100 votes, and that Ted Hackworth received more than 800 votes in the same election.... yet neither of them were appointed to the two vacant seats on council which were open shortly after the election.0

Those who were appointed served the special interest of council at that time and things have not changed much except that David will help get the word out because he will dare ask the tough questions! thank you DAVID!
The Sky is Falling

Mr. Uher here you are again sitting at home on another Saturday night with nothing to do but spread misinformation and gossip around this community on someone else?’s web site. Most of which is not true.

Last week you were telling us all that PATA members were forming a new Republican Club. As if to say that PATA was only Republicans. Since you don?’t know who PATA members are then you were just making up your statements. I will tell you that many of those that work with PATA are also Democrats. Too bad they aren?’t forming a Democrat club. Maybe you could join that one also. Maybe they are and you just haven?’t heard about it yet! It only took you three months to find out about the new Republican Club.

You now say you are absolutely shocked at the comments David Shaver made about former city councilman Craig Maxey. Mr. Shaver didn?’t say anything out of line. He only stated that he didn?’t want Mr. Maxey to be re-appointed to council. Like you Mark, he puffed up his statement to include that Mr. Maxey was overwhelming defeated. I predict that Mr. Shaver will stick to his guns and vote against Mr. Maxey on February 5th.

Mark you said that Mr. Shaver owes Mr. Maxey an apology because in Pickerington Precinct J, Maxey was the top vote getter with 57% of the vote. You putz, Maxey won that precinct by one vote over Parker. Mr. Maxey lost his home precinct of Pickerington I. I don?’t think Mr. Shaver owes anyone an apology.

You keep worrying about the rights of the members of the Republican Club of North West Fairfield County. They are not forcing you to attend these meetings are they? I am sure you would be welcomed with open arms down at the Library when the Pickerington Republican Club meets the very same night. Are they forcing their members to stay and donate their membership fees? Don't let the door hit you in the butt leaving.

Mark if you spent, as much time trying to help this community instead of trying to tear it apart we would all be much better served.

89 Votes?

89 votes out of the 557 registered in Precinct J is impressive? The 57% that voted for Mr. Maxey would = 51 votes? Wow! I am flabergasted!

Mr. Shaver ran away with the election. Yes he is an attorney and he cares about our community!
