I heard that someone was building a huge sports training complex in Pickerington. Not just for Pickerington but in Pickerington. Hard to believe they would give up the number of houses to build something like this.
Has anyone else heard this rumor? |

Recreational Land Use
The Violet Township Board of Zoning appeals has a public hearing for a land use variance of over 30 acres with a request for ''a private recreational facility''. The hearing date is 3/21 @ 7:30 pm at the Township offices. This hearing was advertised in the local papers. Of course, since it's the Township there will be multiple opportunities for public input. Call the Township offices, rather than following the rumor trails, at 755-5556 and ask for Kelly Sarko, Zoning Official, to find out the facts. |

Before I call
Before I call the Township offices, I should probably contact City Hall. Perhaps there is still time for a preannexation agreement to be reached with the developers of this recreational use facility. I smell a TIF in the works. This place will probably employ tens of people that can pay income tax. Water and sewer taps for free. Entrance roads and parking lots, streetlights and sidewalks for free. Heck, I?’ll bet the Township has no intention of making these kinds of offers. Come on Council, what are you waiting for? |
