In the May 27th addition of the SE Messenger a Letter to the Editor was titled ?“Parking in Pickerington?”.
The letter was a dig against current Pickerington Council member David Shaver and his public comments about the City paying for paving private property, THEN passing an Ordinance on the issue.
The letter?’s author is Dave England....
Now the rest of the story..........
1. Mr. England is a former Pickerington City Council member....
2. Mr. England is the current Chair of Pickerington?’s Planning and Zoning Commission......
3. Mr. England?’s business ?– England Insurance ?– had their parking lot paved last year, before the election and within the guise of the City?’s annual street paving work......
4. Mr. England?’s business associate is current Pickerington City Council President Pro tem and Finance Committee Chairman Lou Postage........
The pavings DONE (long ago).......
The parking lots are largely used for a FEW businesses.........
Months AFTER the election the ?“housekeeping?” Ordinance passes.........
The age-old practice of an Editor?’s note commenting on these points was missing from the bottom of Mr. England?’s Letter to the Editor.
