Democracy in action in Pickerington.
Craig Maxey loses his city council election. ''Pickerington Hall'' arranges to have him appointed to city council anyway. Craig Maxey runs for central committee for his precint and loses. Don't worry Craigie, we will just take over the Republican party and put you on the Executive Committee ahead of all those silly people who thought they needed to be elected in a democracy. Brian Fox loses his election to represent his precinct in the Central Committee and lo and behold he is appointed chairman of the county party despite the fact that his own Republican neighbors could not even stand to see elected.
Oh, by the way, these are the same people who have been endorsing Democrat Randy Hughes for Mayor and have been turning over monies raised at a ''Republican'' fundraiser to a Democrat who being opposed by a long time Republican who had the audacity to not agree with thier plans for the Pickerington area. For these people, the Republican party is just a tool to serve thier own selfish interests.
In an action similar to the Nazi Beer Hall Putsch, the Pickerington thugs stole the County Republican party last night. ''Parliamentarian'' Bobby ''no vote'' Mapes decided that they only motions that could be heard were the ones sponsored by his friends . He also decided that Mr. Fox could be elected to a position that, by definition, could not be held by someone holding a politcal office. Oh' let's not let details like the by-laws bother us except when it serves our own self interest. Darryl ''I'm just a businessman'' Berry showed up and actually ''counted'' the votes. The only good thing about all of this is that Mr. Berry is finally stepping out of the shadows. A Republican club was banned because it was comprised of people who stand up and fight. Elected officials like the City Council President of Lancaster were tossed out on thier ears. The County Chairman who fought corruption by taking the party away from the control of the like of Gary ''the felon'' DeMastry is replaced because he refused to bow to the will of yet another group seeking to exploit Republican status for selfish purposes. I guess we don't want people who stand up to corruption in this county, especially when they might start looking at places where people don't want them to look too closely.
The message to Lancaster is that you better be prepared to withstand the thug tactics that have plagued the Pickerington populace for years better than they have or be prepared to turn your town over to the developers. Do you know how to spell condominiums? Don't forget to TIF the builders and give away free water and sewer taps. Come down to State Route 256 and see the famous ''Road to Nowhere'' paid for by the Pickerington taxpayers. I wonder who is developing office projects along this road? Could it be the same person that is now building condominiums in Lancaster?
Actually, the comparison to Adolph Hitler is inaccurate. He actually won an election as Chancellor of Germany before taking over.These people are taking over without any pretense of democracy.
If these are the leaders of this County's Republican Party we should all form a new third party.

Sold to the Highest Bidder!

You are right about ?“Fox and Friends.?” He is quoted in the Lancaster paper today saying he wants to grow the party. Didn?’t he and his friends just exclude an active Republican Club? Didn?’t this same club raise money for the party?’s ENDORSED CANDIDATES?
He claimed he wanted to increase the party?’s fund raising. Yet he and his friends failed to support the county party at the annual fund raiser held March 9th 2002. Now he wants everyone to go along to get along. The question that should be in everyone?’s mind in this county right now is WHERE DOES MR. FOX intend to get all this NEW MONEY for the party? I will give you all a hint. Check out the PATA newsletter dated January ?– March 2002. Fox and Friends, raised over $30,000 just to get his buddies on Council elected. Most ran unopposed! Could F& F have sold their REPUBLICAN SOULS to the devil? It is one thing for a political party to accept money from a company like Anchor Hocking that provides jobs and give back large tax payments to the community. These residential developers come in and make their money and go back home to New Albany or Dublin and leave the mess for the local tax payers to fund.
Al; will you confess again like you did back in 1947 after all this falls down around our collective heads?
Mr. Fox couldn?’t get elected in his own Pickerington Precinct. Maxey couldn?’t get elected to council or his precinct and yet they now are on the Republican Executive committee. They will be helping other candidates get elected now! Don?’t worry they will have plenty of money and a whole county full of new suckers (that were born Wednesday Night). I sure hope the Democrats aren?’t paying attention to this. The Democratic Party?’s past county president told me we should kick Tim Schaffer out. Well he got his wish. He lost his job when the party elected Schaffer. Maybe he hopes to get back on the Lancaster Council and lead the Democratic Party again.
So to make this so everyone can understand it. The message the Republicans sent to the Residential Developers Wednesday Night was:
TAKE ME I?’M YOURS!
Sounds like Albert saw this played out once before in Germany with the Jews. Will we realize our mistake too late like the Jews?

What?!?
Thwarted at the ballot box, now here they come through the back door. When are the people of this community going to wake up? Where the heck was John Dolske, John Hammond, Bob Harding and the other like minded Republicans when all of this trickery was taking place? I thought that's why we elected those folks to the Republican central committee so we wouldn't have to see these calculating morons continue with their shenanigans and continue to ruin this community! Central Committee Republicans: If you were there, what exactly happened? If you weren't there, you have let yourself down and you have let the Republican community down. Am I going to have to vote Independent now?

Put Up or Shut Up
Dear Ex,
I guess Fox just had another victory. Hooray for Fox. If you don?’t have the stomach to either run for central committee, council or help those that do then maybe you would be a better Democrat than a Republican. The Democrats always like to blame others and sit back and let someone else stand up for their rights. You seem to fit that description to a ?“T?”.
The above mentioned Central Committee men were there in place. They fought a great battle only to constantly lose by a margin of around 58 to 48. All of the Republicans that ran against Fox INC. and won showed up and voted. Fox got his political strength from your tax dollars. A number of the votes they received came from Pickerington City employees. When they have a stand up vote and Daryl is in the counting room which why do you think they would vote?
However, like good con artists, our Pickerington Republicans have found they can?’t win in Pickerington any longer so they have taken their show to the county with lots of extra cash to pay their way. This now becomes a very serious situation for this entire county. We will never have any industry or Commercial development anywhwere soon. They will simply do for the County what they did for Pickerington the last few years. They are only looking for quality commercial remember? That almost never happens.
When the effort to recruit Central Committee candidates to run against these slugs was going on very few showed. It is people that wanted to sit at home and criticize those that have tried and lost. Are you willing to donate a thousand dollars or more for their campaigns? Well there are folks in this town very willing to do so and they have a vested intertest in the outcome of these elections. They don?’t give away those flyers and mailers folks. The signs alone will cost $500 or more and they certainly had plenty of them.
Remember if the above mentioned CC members had only 6 more voters on their side it would have been a much different out come. I will except you to either put up or shut up and if you are in one of those precincts that is filled by one of the Fox Inc.then call those people you mentioned above they will let you know how to apply to run.
