City Plant one of 48 treatment plants in Ohio in violation

The City of Pickerington Sewage Treatment Plant cited in most recent state report.

Ohio EPA continues to allow expansion of service areas and more need for new capacity even though current systems do not operate within their permit regulations. PATA members have stated in the past to the City and the Ohio EPA that the current facility should meet the permit requirements BEFORE any expansion of service areas or any new lines are allowed.

From the Dispatch Article

The EPA requires 3,200 sewage treatment facilities, factories and other large industrial operations statewide to monitor and limit pollution. Of the 62 operations deemed to be in "significant noncompliance" in the most recent quarterly state report, 48 were government wastewater-treatment plants, according to an EPA report for July through September 2003.
