For all of you in the SLOW GROWTH MINORITY in this community, :)LOL I guess the realtors are coming to the next meeting to let the city council know how things should be done in the best interest of our community.

Dear Pickerington Realtor:

You are receiving this email because you are associated with a Real Estate
Office in the Pickerington area. I thought you would want a briefing
regarding a proposed one-year moratorium on new residential construction
being proposed by Pickerington City Council member David Shaver.

On Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at 7:00 p.m., the City of Council of Pickerington
will be holding the first of three hearings on the proposed moratorium. As
you know, housing has been under considerable attack by a vocal minority of
citizens in the Pickerington area, not all of whom reside within the city.
The Columbus Board of Realtors has worked with city staff, the majority of
the city council who are in support of growth, and the Building Industry
Association trying to communicate the value of good, managed residential
growth to the economy of the community and its importance in maintaining the
value of ones investment in real property.

I have observed at the meetings I have attended that this vocal, anti-growth
group is very well represented. I have also observed at these meetings that
the residents and business community supporting growth have been poorly
represented. In other words, only one side of the story is being told and
heard. I might add that the message is often confusing and misleading.

Attached is a briefing paper prepared by the BIA on the proposed moratorium.
Please take time to review it. I hope that it ''spurs'' your interest enough
to get you to attend the hearing scheduled for March 4. Between the BIA and
CBR, we hope to have at least 100 residents and business people opposing the
moratorium in attendance. If you feel comfortable with speaking, please
fill out a speakers slip and give your opinion. The Mayor and growth
advocates on city council really need your support.

take a minute to contract them and let them know you opinion regarding the
