Utility service fight - part 1 -

Low interest loans for utility expansion ??!??

In mid '90's it is noted in Ohio EPA information that low interest loans were to be made available for utilities expansion to the utility services of the City of Pickerington. It was requested by the OEPA that a regional approach is implemented to avoid duplication of services and the costs inherent in such duplication. Since that time "old timers" are aware of the duplication of services that has been created in the area of Rt. 256. For those of you not aware, just drive down the highway and notice that there are fire hydrants on both sides of the road north of Big Bear up to Cross Creeks. The utility services on the East Side of the road are via Fairfield County Utilities and have been in place for some time. The utilities on the West Side of the road are from the City of Pickerington. the complete area did not need this duplication.
