Putting an End to Abuse through Community Efforts Initiative...
is a coalition of 52 agencies, organizations and individuals working collaboratively to end violence in families.
The Mission of the P.E.A.C.E. Initiative is to educate the community about the extent, and often-deadly consequences, of domestic violence and to respond effectively through collaborative partnerships.
The San Antonio Police Department responds to approximately 32,000 family violence and domestic disturbance calls each year.
Domestic violence is a major factor contributing to the problems of crime, injuries, drug and alcohol use, teenage runaways, homelessness, and other social issues.
The P.E.A.C.E. Initiative offers free training and education to groups wanting to learn more about domestic violence.
P.E.A.C.E. members meet monthly to discuss local efforts, network, advocate and strategize. If you would like more information or would like to volunteer, please call (210) 533-2729.
Volunteer! The P.E.A.C.E. Initiative and other local programs need volunteers to assist in efforts to prevent domestic violence and assist those in violent relationships.
