Parking Problems

According to City Code, you cannot park:
(A) On or across a sidewalk
(B) Within five feet of a private driveway
(C) Within an intersection.
(D) Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. ($50 fine)
(E) On or within a crosswalk.
(F) Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection.
(G) Within 30 feet upon the approach to a stop sign or yield sign.
(O) Upon any street for any period of time longer than 24 continuous hours (except on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays)
(P) Upon any portion of residential property other than in a driveway - NO parking in yards which includes front, back, and sides.
(Q) So close to any mailbox that the access of postal employees to any mailbox is hampered or interfered with.
(.) On the wrong side of the street

The only vehicles permitted to be parked in residential districts in the city shall be:
(1) Operable automobiles, vans and motorcycles, and no such automobiles, vans or motorcycles shall be parked other than in the driveway, or street.
(2) Operable recreational vehicles, campers, boats and trucks (one-ton, panel or pickup) which shall only be parked in the driveway - not in the street; and pull-trailers (including small utility trailers), which shall only be parked in the driveway.
(B) The following vehicles will not be permitted to be parked in residential districts: semi-trucks, truck-tractors, farm tractors, road tractors, semitrailers, over-size vehicles; school buses, church buses; or any inoperable automobiles, vans, motorcycles, recreation vehicles, campers, boats and trucks.

Report Parking violations to: Parking Control at 427-5050.
State law defines an abandoned vehicle as, ?“a vehicle that is three (3) of more model years old and mechanically inoperable, and is left on private property for more than twenty (20) days.?”
People convicted of violating the ordinance face fines of up to $50.

To make a complaint about a vehicle on private property call the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Department at 427-1324 or 427-1293. An officer will be sent out within the next 2 working days to check the complaint.

1) Address where the vehicle is located. (Exact address please.)
2) Is car in the grass or in the driveway?
3) Type of car, color, and year (if possible).
4) If available, a plate number would be helpful.
