The City of Fort Wayne will participate in the annual Great American Cleanup and National River Cleanup on May, 21, 2005. The Great American Cleanup is the country?’s largest litter prevention, beautification, and community improvement project. Emphasis this year will be on prevention of West Nile Virus, but removal of all types of litter will help beautify our city.
The City provides a post-cleanup party at Headwaters Park. If your group would like to participate in the Great American Cleanup, the deadline for you to receive free materials (work gloves, trash bags, T-shirts, flower seeds) for the event is April 15. Later applications would not be turned away, but there may not be enough materials for late-filers. You can contact Kitty at 749-9960 for a registration form or call the City?’s Solid Waste Office at 427-1270 for more information.
