It looks like summer is upon us early this year and we have skipped the rainy season. The upside is that this is a great time to spruce up our homes by cleaning or painting our houses and mailboxes.
Remember that the Covenants require that no building or other improvement can be erected, placed or altered on any lot until the construction plans and specifications and a plan showing the location of the structure or improvement have been approved in writing by the architectural control committee. The committee reviews the quality of materials and proposed workmanship and conformity and harmony of external design with existing structures in the subdivision. This year we have had applications for the color of the paint, various construction and additions. Repainting with the same colors does not require approval.
Some general rules to keep in mind are:
1. No building shall be located on any lot nearer than 10 feet to any side street line.
2. No roof overhang or projection shall be within 3 1/2 feet of any interior lot line (except for garage overhangs which may not be within 2 feet of any interior lot line.)
