Within the March /April Newsletter we included a security survey. It seems appropriate to report the results of the replies mailed to the PT post office box.
We received 66 survey responses. The following is a summary of the resident replies to the questions:
#1) 41 indicated concern about security; 21 were not concerned; 4 had some concern.
#2) 53 indicated awareness of current security measures, 13 were unaware or didn?’t answer this
question.
#3) 36 rated the security as excellent to good; 20 rated fair; 6 rated poor; 4 did not answer this
question.
#4) 58 indicated a willingness to attend a security meeting.
#5) 42 are willing to increase maintenance fees; 15 do not want to increase maintenance fees; 9
were non-committal.
#6) For those who were willing to increase maintenance fees, the range of annual increase was
from $30 to $500. (Current fees are $120 annually, discounted to $70 if paid prior to March
15th.)
#8) 32 would vote for a special taxing district/gated community; 34 were not in favor of a special
taxing district/gated community.
#7, 9, 10) These were not yes/no questions. Replies to these questions have been recorded and can
be made available upon request.
Some board members who favor increased security were not satisfied with the number of responses and plan to go door to door for additional response. Some board members feel that the response
does represent the statistical attitude of Park Timbers as every homeowner had an opportunity to reply on the security issue and should be used as the subdivision security barometer.
