I went to Ward 1's meeting on September 13, 2001 and got to talk with our local officials and city counselors. While I was there I discussed with the city's traffic engineer about speeding in certain streches of our neighborhood roads and intersections. We discussed on how the city could help us evaluate the need for stop signs or speed reducing barriers in our neighbrohood. The city engineer said he would call back in two to three weeks about having someone from the city come out and run some test to see if we need these corrective changes or not.

I also talked with the City of Thornton Police Chief about starting our own neighborhood watch. He took down my information and said he would have an officer that specializes in coordinating the neighborhood watch program to contact me in the next following days.

I have a couple of questions:

1. When would it be a good time for a majority of you to meet with these local officials concerning these issues? How does a week night after 6:00pm sound for a meeting time?

2. Are there any other neighborhood concerns that you would like to address besides these two issues?

Please let me know as soon as possible since we need to make an appointment and set-up a place for the meeting.

Thank you.
