Cars in the Street

Can someone clarify for me. Are cars allowed to be parked in the street or not? I was under the impression they were not.  Yet a quick drive through the neighborhood shows that its now a common practice.  Some are even parked on the lawn, or the sidewalk.  At one intersection on Lexington Ave, there are often cars parked at a 3 way stop. 

Anyway, if all of this is allowed, fine. If not, I'd like to see some enforcement of that.  Thanks

I also hate this and I will explain why in a sec but to answer the question, Section 4, Page 12 of the Declaration Of Protective Covenants for Towne Lake Hills South states that no vehicles will be parked on the street for more than 24hrs at a time. As for parking in the grass, the DOPC clearly forbids this.

 

Why do I care? Because it degrades our property values. e.g. Right now there is a car parked on the grass at 3038 Lexington Ave. and a junk car in the driveway at 3037 Lexington Ave. while at the same time 3040 Lexington Ave. is for sale. Now, when prospective buyers come to view 3040 and see cars in the yard and junk cars they do not buy and go elsewhere which forces the owner of the home for sale to lower the price to get the home to sell and as a result all of our home values go lower since the value of our homes is based on recent sales in the immediate area.

 

The property management company was hired and is paid very well to manage the property and enforce the rules in order to maintain and increase our property value. It's my opinion based on personal experiences that our property management company does a very poor job and if it were solely up to me they would be long replaced.

Actually, I live at 3040, and my house isn't for sale. It's the one next to me.  The funny, and I guess ironic thing is, I got a notice in the mail from the property manager that I had 2 cars parked on my grass, and I needed to move them. Number one, I only HAVE 2 cars, and I certainly don't park them on the grass.  Obviously, they got the address wrong. I called and corrected them on that. At least they tried.

 

I had a completely different run-in with the property management company a little while ago which left quite a bitter taste in my mouth concerning them.  I had my laptop and a few other things stolen from my car. After I filed a police report, I called property management to see if I could view the video footage from the picnic area, thinking it was possible the thieves went there to go through all the things they had stolen that night. They first told me we didn't have security cameras. I informed them that there were, in fact, security cameras there.  It wasn't until I said that I had spoken with the detective in charge of my case about the cameras and that she was also interested in seeing them, that they suddenly remembered we had cameras. Then I was told they would review the tapes for the night in question and get back to me. 2 days went by so I called them again. They then informed me that apparently someone had unplugged the cameras, so there was no footage. I found the entire thing suspicious, and still do. Are the cameras that we paid for working? Are we paying a fee for monitoring? I think a lot of questions should be asked, personally.
