2009 Annual Meeting

March 29, 2009

The 2009 PCHA Annual meeting called to order on March 29, 2009, at 6:35 p.m. by Interim Chairman of the Board, Jim Brady at Rolling Hills Country Club

Guest Speakers:

Jim Brady introduced the first of the three Guest Speakers.  Jason Crawford of TXDOT gave a detailed presentation on state of traffic and road construction in North Arlington.   Jason is available for questions or other concerns by contacting him at Jason@keep30moving.org or by calling 817-462-0505. 

Next speaker was Barry Hines - Deputy Chief of the Arlington Police Department.  Barry is responsible for North Arlington.  His presentation included various statistics including a 9% reduction in crime in North Arlington with a 5% reduction overall in the city of Arlington.   Residential burglaries are up and yet the easiest to prevent.  He encouraged us to always call 911 if you see anything suspicious.  He reported that most home burglaries are during the day.  He also provided some important dates for events at the new Cowboy stadium in which the Arlington Police Department will be prepared to handle.  Included in the dates are concerts on June 6th - George Strait/Reba McIntire; June 20th - The Jonas Brothers; August - Oklahoma - BYU game, October 3rd - Texas A&M - OSU ; December - Big 12 Championship.

The 3rd and final guest speaker was Mel LeBlanc  - City Councilman.  Mel reported that 72 game rooms in Arlington are now closed.  He also reported on other building activity in North Arlington as well as addressing many questions from the homeowners.

Treasurer's Report:

Chuck McCoy gave an overview of the monthly financial report as well as an overview of the proposed budget for the 2009-2010 year. 

He also reported that out of 186 homes - we have received dues from 138 homeowners.

Old Business:

It was reported that the Covenants/By Laws project have been tabled to be addressed by the new board. 

New Business:

Don Hide reported the receipt of 87 ballots.  7 of the ballots were rejected due to lack of requested information i.e. names of homeowners.  The new board members include:

Tom Burnham

Barbara Duehn

Doreen Elliot

Randy Hudson

Ray Menezes

Shirley Nelson

Jerry Thiel reported that we received 90 questionnaires.  He also prepared a summary on the results. 

Both the ballots and questionnaires were given to Pat McCain, Secretary to be held for 6 months.  At that time - both will be shredded.

If anyone would like to review the ballots or questionnaires, they are to contact Pat and can be reviewed in the presence of a Board Member.

Crime Watch

Les Perrin reported that due to his work load he could not continue in his role as head of Crime Watch.  David Livings will be taking on this role in the future.  There is a need for more COPS volunteers.  Please contact David if you are willing or interested in participating.  There will be a training class conducted in April.

Dara Wandel  - PCHA Webmaster -gave a brief update on the website and encouraged all homeowners to use this wonderful tool.
