Why is the Center not ready?

The question remains. The BOD has the power to contract for this building and pay for it. The building sits as it has for many months. The last report to the members (above) indicates essentially the same windows then remain a problem, and that was 1-1/2 months ago.
Are we being told that the replacement of these windows is the linchpin?
Are we to believe it?
What perhaps is not being told to us about the center?
What is it going to take to open the center?
These questions continue to be asked and not answered.

Anyone have any clues why the Center is not ready?

How long is long enough to sit here in the dark? (Note, the June 2007 newsletter suggests ''sometime in June or July'' there will be an opening.)

Ah, hope endures.

Sounds like its ready now

By all the words we have seen the Community/Recreation Center is going to be open for the Aug 8 annual meeting.

This is good.

What to do with it is the next question.

Anyone have some good ideas?

Comm/Rec Center Inches Forward!

Learned at the small meeting Aug 8 that at the city's final inspection there is at least another item to fix (seems like death by a thousand cuts) before the certificate of occupancy is given. When new construction occurs the city seeks to induce upgrade of related facilities to meet the latest version of the Uniform Development Code (UDC) compliance, and here aligning with ADA requirements the City Inspector is seeking to have the HOA reduce the grade of the entrance from the road into the parking lot (crossing the sidewalk at that point)from 3% to 2%. It is amazing. In the big picture of things it is a way for the City to ''inch itself'' toward a fuller compliance with the latest development guidelines, and it may be that this is a way they do it. Do not know if this is all the story; just what was learned this evening. So yet a little more work to do, tied not to the new building, but because of the new construction project......
