Our Meeting July 28
We had new additions to the small group that is expanding to begin to talk about what activities make sense and can be started earliest.
Ideas today included:
Mother's Day Out program so that Moms can get a break to relax, shop, etc. while ''kid pooling'' at the Rec Ctr.
''Dance Your Pants Off'' exercise activity for any, all on a scheduled basis (sorry Richard Simmons, hope you do not mind we borrowed your idea).
Tutoring activities.
Parkwood Kids Website/Computer Club (kids teach other kids about computers and create websites for neighbors, etc.).
Next steps?
Collect all neighbor's email addresses to spread the word.
Talk it up at National Night Out block parties (Aug 7).
Ask Board of Directors of HOA to support volunteering activities for a formal Rec Ctr Committee (Aug 8).
Invite more to crowd around the tables at the pavilion at next meeting (Sep 8, noon).
