The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Don Hutchison.

Don went over the crime report for all of 2007; our members are calling the police more than in the past. This is a very good sign, our neighbors are concerned and taking a stand to make our neighborhood a better place to live. We still need more involvement, but we are making progress.

Herb Polson was elected for a 4-year term. He stopped by to thank every one for voting. It was a very close race; he won by only 627 votes. The Rays new stadium is on his agenda. He was interested in what our neighborhood association thought of a new stadium, so he took our vote, which was a very definite NO. Herb also explained the super homestead exemption to us.

The City of St Petersburg contacted Don to get our association vote regarding bike lanes on 5th Avenue. After a vote, our association chooses option 1, BUT with a stipulation: that Don tells the city we did not want any changes if at all possible.

Regarding an Association sign, unfortunately, we did not meet the deadline; therefore, we will be applying for a grant this year. We needed to have a lot more things in place, before the application could be compete. The grant committee will enlist help from our communication committee for help with the very involved application, after the how, who and were regarding the green space has been all finalized.

Our first Oktoberfest, was a huge success. Next year we will advertise it much sooner so more people can attend. Also, change the wording so that our neighbors don't mistake it for an advertisement?…?….

Don has received several requests from vendors to make presentations at our meetings regarding planning for the future. This will take up a lot of time, our meetings are quarterly, that means we only have an hour and a half to discuses the past three months and get information for the next three months. It was decided that we would invite these people to make a 10 minute presentation, hand out cards to the people that are interested. They can either talk to them at the end of the meeting or make an appointment to meet with them later. Everyone agreed.
