Strategic Plan 2007

Training-
1. Continue training as outline in exhibit “A” (specifically developed for SPFD by Chief Pope)
2. Offer Fire Fighter 1 Academy and all possible outside training, as available, to all volunteers
3. Pay for volunteers to get CA Class B Fire Fighter license.
4. Schedule Pump operation training days in addition to regular training
5. Schedule “On Scene” reports and “Incident Command” training in addition to regular training

Volunteers-
1. Attempt to recruit more residents
2. Make a monthly duty schedule for Residents, Chief, and Volunteers
3. Continue community recruitment

Communications-
1. Switch dispatch services to CDF Co-Op dispatch center
2. Seek funding for more radios to insure all adequately trained volunteers have one
3. Seek funding to install a local repeater on the Samoa Peninsula

Community-
1. Continue dialog with local businesses in order to meet their fire and life protection needs
2. Seek community support and dialog about the future of the SPFD and possible additional assessments

Operations-
1. Work with local fire agencies to improve all services

Mission Statement

To provide the highest quality emergency response to fires, hazardous materials incidents, and medical calls that resources allow.

Immediate Goals
· Recruit and maintain enough personal to schedule a duty person at all times
· Provide 24 hour response with staffed apparatus
· To continually critique our training program to meet the needs of our volunteers in order to provide the best fire, property, and life protection possible
· Improve our communications with dispatch services, communities, businesses, and other fire districts

Recent Accomplishments

· 20 New Volunteers
· New Chief
· New Training Program
· 2 New Residents
· 2 New Paramedics
· 3 New EMT’s (2 more currently in class)
· 3 New Class B Drivers (1 more next week)
