Hi! I'm a new resident who lives on Winterpine Court. I work nights, and I walk my dog a couple of times during the day. Many times myself and others that I've met who also walk during the day have noticed dogs wandering the neighborhood. Sometimes they have tags, sometimes no. I realize some are comfortable with letting their pet out to have an "adventure", but I also know the heartbreak of not being able to find your pet.
A couple of us in the neighborhood were talking about the idea of a web page - hopefully on this website - where pet owners in our development could "register" their pet - including pet's name, address, a picture or good description, and a phone number where the owner could be reached (it would be good to also include the name/number of your veterinarian). If we're all keeping a look out for other's pets, it could save any one of us a lot of heartache later - and also make it much easier for those in the neighborhood who find loose pets and are trying desperately to find an owner.
Another thought to accompany this site would be to have a group of volunteers who might be available to help in the search for a lost dog / cat. I myself would be happy to volunteer.
