According to what I was told at May 07?’s meeting, the attendance at HOA meetings is typically quite low - half a dozen homeowners plus the board members and property manager.
Those who don?’t attend are not informed of what is going on, let along being involved in decision making.
So if someone from the management company makes a sales pitch, be it a construction project or purchase, how does the board know they are making a decision that is favored by most homeowners?
They simply don?’t - and that?’s what makes such decision-making process flawed.
We urgently need a website to communicate and coordinate. We also need a hardcopy newsletter for those who are not computer savvy - they should not be left out.
SUGGESTION:
1. Promote the use of community website and online forum.
2. Start a hardcopy newsletter, it could be bi-monthly, for those households paying their HOA dues.
3. prior to every month's HOA meeting, items to be discussed shall be posted ahead of time to give interested homeowners ample time to prepare to come to the meeting. after each meeting, minutes shall be posted for review by all homeowners.
