I seem to remember reading something in the CC&R's that stated pets weren't allowed in the common areas and parks. Don't get me wrong, I love the doggies and I have one myself but if there is a rule against having dogs in the common areas, can we post a sign stating so? I've had a couple experiences that have really put me off. One time a dog got really excited, knocked my 3 year old daughter to the ground and did his ''thing'' on her (shock and horror!!!!!) Another time we had to leave the park after just arriving because a young girl had her Doberman at the park and was having trouble restrianing it. I don't know about you but I make it a point to keep my kids away from agressive dogs that can escape at any moment. I felt terrible telling my kids that we had to turn around and go home but I didn't feel that they were safe. Can anything be done? I realize that most of the dogs in this neighborhood are lovely pets but I think it would help to keep our kids a bit safer in the parks if the dogs weren't there.

CC&R 4.8 says that dogs are allowed in the common areas as long as they are on a 6' leash or less and the owner immediately cleans up any mess left by that dog. If the dog is not properly restrained, then it is not allowed off the owners lot. If you would like the Board to restrict dogs from a specific common area or all common areas, request a review of your request in writing and the Board Members will consiter your request in an executive session. Hopefully this was some help to you.

Maybe they should just be kept off the common areas where there are playgrounds. I agree, I don't like strange dogs around my children. I don't think that is always a safe situation.

On page 6 of the Castlegate design guidelines and association rules it states ''Dogs must remain on leashes at all times while outside fenced yards and are not allowed on or within 100 feet of tot lots or play areas''
