This website is great and is the same format the other associations use. Why would we deviate from this format? I keep hearing about another website and I see no value in replacing this current venu.

It's called Aesthetics
While I can understand that this is definitely a subjective matter I would state that a website that is aesthetically pleasing, has dynamic content as well as having function and form/ease-of-use is ALWAYS more well-received and useful. This website could use less banner ads and more pertinent information, pictures, etc. of our neighborhood. Please take is as yet another opinion - that's all. If everyone that saw ''no value'' in aesthetics were left to make all of the decisions we would all be wearing black and white clothing, driving cars that were all exactly the same, eating flavored packets of food like astronauts and there would be one status quo that would (have) to work for all. Ouch. |

It is also called SIMPLE!
For months or even years our CVA had a website parked and waiting. For several months now the PPA has had a website parked and waiting. Waiting and waiting for someone with the time and skills to come forward and run the site. While those sites are very beautiful indeed, it does take special skills and knowledge. I guess not many of our neighbors know html or FrontPage. Whatever the reason it has not happened and this one has. What's great about this site? Everyone has the skills and knowledge, because it is so SIMPLE! Simple is good. So lets K.I.S. & make up Anonymous, for the betterment of the neighborhood. We need open lines of communications NOW. Aesthetics can stay parked somewhere for future use. |

It's called common sense
While it may not have all the bells and whistles which many sites do, it is a simple site which almost anyone might navigate thru without much trouble. The biggest plus is that this site is FREE and the format was established by the city of Phoenix. Several other neighborhood associations use this same format. By doing this, wherever one goes looking for what is happening in other neighborhoods or with other associations, we can easily navigate thru the websites of those using this format. It may not be the prettiest on the block, but right now we do not need pretty, we need one which works in the easiest format to get the information out to those who live in our neighborhood who have a computer and are able to get online. For all too long now we have been told that we have a website. Well we did, but it was parked in a NO FUNCTION ZONE. Now we have one which is up and running and we should be grateful for that. Finally someone took the ball and scored a touchdown for the neighborhood with a functional website. And I am not afraid to place my name at the end of my message. Do not see a reason to hide in the darkness of the internets blackest holes. Nuff said, George |
