The Pines HOA Security Measures
When: Thursday, June 18, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Where: Cherokee Hills Baptist Church Worship Center
5700 NW 63rd Street (about one block East of MacArthur)
We have a GREAT opportunity to implement new security measures in our HOA. We are meeting with Georgie Rasco, Executive Director of the Neighborhood Alliance, and Sgt. Charlie Epperly of the Oklahoma City Police Department (Hefner Division) on Thursday evening June 18 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
This is a tremendous opportunity for us to band together as a neighborhood association, and make our neighborhood safer. Most importantly, we will be exploring the possibility of implementing a volunteer neighborhood patrol. In order for us to qualify for this special program, we will need twenty (20) volunteers. After training, it will only require two to three hours per month. Training will not begin at this meeting. However, we need to gauge the interest, so we will know how many volunteers we have. The benefits of partnering with the OCPD in such a program will be substantial.
We will also be exploring the possibility of pursuing Federal funds for security and/or beautification.
Please make this a priority. Don't leave it to "someone else". This is our neighborhood. Let's make it one of the safest neighborhoods in OKC.
If you cannot make this meeting, but would be interested in volunteering to be trained for patrolling, please email ljbilodeau(a)hotmail.com
