Topics for May 2009 meeting

Hello Everyone,


I will be sending periodic emails, to inform you of what is happening in the community. The content will be a recap of the monthly meeting, and also provide any important information that we were unable to cover in the meeting. I will try to be brief and summarize each topic.


May 22, 2009 Meeting


A motion was made and passed, to change our name from Plantation Estates Community Association to Plantation Estates Community.


Canal Gates a big issue and we are going to try and expedite getting the gates in place to cut down on off road vehicle traffic and to make it more difficult for quick escapes from one side of the neighborhood to the other.


Sidewalks are being repaired and street lights are being installed in previously allocated locations.


We have applied for a grant with the county which we did not get, we plan to re-submit and are hopeful to be successful.


Walk: We currently have several people walking on a regular basis. It is extremely important for us to continue these walks as it is disruptive to their criminal activity and over time, if we continue to disrupt them, they will eventually relocate. We are constantly looking for more people to help with the walks!

Committee members: we are seeking a webmaster to maintain our website. We are hopeful that over time it will become an important tool for communication. We would like to post things happening in the neighborhood such as yard sales, and block parties. We would also like to have pages such as an information page which will allow people to inform neighbors about their business so that we can utilize businesses in the neighborhood prior to going outside for services.


Block party committee: In the future we will be planning another block party and we would like volunteers to form a separate committee to organize this event.

The Lantana Cascade Mobile Home Park Located at 6330 Lantana Rd will be hosting the 1st Annual Guardian Angels BBQ and Fund Raiser on Sat 27 JUNE from 10:00am ?– 3:00pm. There will be lot?’s of FOOD a BOUNCE HOUSE, KARATE -SELF DEFENCE DEMO'S, GUARDIAN ANGEL DEMO'S and activities for the entire family. THE FRESH FIRE SINGERS will also be presenting a SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC CONCERT in the main clubhouse.
