I am in agreement with since90's. I have seen that particular individual questioning residents representing themselves as a COPS member. It becomes frustrating when we see the police officers responding to him and following up with his concerns, but have yet to do anything about the vandalism that many of us dealt with. My house was hit 3 times and we have been told that it will take time to catch the boys who did it and not to call the detectives and "bother" them about it. I think that the point that everyone is getting at is that the focus is being directed in the wrong direction and as a result more serious crimes are occurring.

Unfortunately, I have seen it too. I know there is one individual and his wife that find no other pleasure in life than to call the police on ATV's riders. Just last week they called the police. It was Saturday afternoon. Not only did the police come out and patrol the streets stopping and asking if we seen any ATV riders but they also sent a helicopter. Honestly, is this what we want our police force doing? Chasing down a couple of kids riding their ATV's on land that this gentleman posted no trespassing signs on? And I think the COPS member that is harassing neighbors needs to be taken off patrol. There is no need for a man with god-syndrome acting in my behalf or in behalf of the association. |

The COPS volunteer that drives the white truck and patrols Mr Newell's property is a current member of RTHA. Although, he is a non participating member. He has chosen to separate himself from the COPS program that we support and has gone out on his own as a concerned citizen. Yes, he did go through the City of Fort Worth COPS Training Program. He does NOT represent River Trails Homeowners Association and RTHA does not have contact with this individual. If you have an issue with this person, we suggest you contact the NPO for our area; Sgt. John Choyce, EAST DIVISION 5650 E. Lancaster(817) 392-4800 / NPD 5 5650 E. Lancaster (817) 392-4844. We have a really great COPS neighborhood coordinator, Melissa McDougall, who is totally committed to crime prevention in River Trails. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Melissa at 817-905-6129 or mcadomk@yahoo.com. |
