There is still little progress being made. Robert Lipscomb and Marcus Ward came to our organizational meeting on April 14th and explained that one particular land owner will not sell unless it is for an inflated price. They also explained that the city's use of eminent domain as far as Eastview is concerned will not be considered until the U.S. Supreme Court decides "Kelo v. New London."
Simply put, if the Supreme Court rules in favor of the city of New London then the city of Memphis will most likely use eminent domain and the Eastview project will begin. If on the other hand, the Supreme Court rules against New London, the Eastview project is most likely dead and we will have to explore other options.
