If you've been around Wilshire Park in the last week or two, you've seen big changes on the running and walking trail. The Beaumont Wilshire Neighborhood Association and the Parks Department have repaired the drainage problems in the low areas and are getting ready to resurface the entire trail.
To this point, the Parks Department has done all the physical work - with dump trucks and backhoes. Neighborhood volunteers will do the next phase - spreading the new bark material by hand. This could be you!
On Saturday morning April 29 at 8 AM, neighbors and park-lovers are invited to bring rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, gloves, friends...and spend the morning laying new landscape fabric in the low places and leveling out bark material on the whole loop.
Coffee will be provided by Starbucks and Coffee People
Pastries by Marsee Baking
Snacks by Trader Joe's and Nabisco
Come on out for breakfast, fun, and the satisfaction of caretaking the jewel of our neighborhood.
