I live on 14th. I recieved a flyer in the mail saying:
?“Block Party
Planning/Brainstorming Session
Thursday June 15th 7-9 pm at County Cork Pub
Make new friends
Renew acquaintances
Build/rebuild Relationships
Know Our Neighbors
Create a Thriving Community
Discuss Viability, set a date, develop an organizing committee, and contact INFO@ne14th.com?”
I am confused about what this is. This is very confusing to me because it implies that 14th is independent from the neighborhood and that residents on this street have some kind of problem. Is it possible that there is a new resident that does not know what is going on and that we have a Neighborhood Association in place? I am a little leery of a committee falling into place on my street, a committee that I already can not participate in because I am busy on the first night it is gathering. Also, I think it will be nearly impossible for me to keep up with 2 different ?“neighborhood?” groups. I am very happy with the Sabin Neighborhood Association and the resources provided from it and think that residents on 14th have pretty much been very community oriented and neighborly. I feel that an extra committee will drain resources and conflict with the Sabin Neighborhood Association that is already in place. Do you have any idea what this is about? I thought maybe it really was a ?“block party?” at first because that is the title of the flyer, but is it very misleading that way, it is absolutely not a block party. Also, there is absolutely no name attached to the flyer, and I pretty much know everyone on the street, so it?’s sort of ridiculous to be anonymous when it is exclusive to 14th Ave.
