There are possibly three lots available around 47th and Division that have the potential to be used for Parks & Recreation/Community Gardens. There has been a P&R proposal in the past and appears to have stalled out for one reason or another. Community support, P&R funding, financial backing? I am interested in uncovering any past, present, or future interest in bringing this back to life, revitalizing the discussion, and seeing how the community feels about whether or not they think this is a good idea. I have been in touch with Parks and Recreation, Portland Community Gardens, Friends of Portland Community Gardens, and the Richmond Neighborhood Association... and there are still more ducks out there to herd into a row. If you have any information, that would be great, and I will gladly keep people posted on what is uncovered, or goings on at various community meetings.





I will be keeping everyone informed of the various findings via email, so please let me know if you would like to be added to my distribution list. I can also post on Craig's List (unfortunately the ad only runs for seven days). I will be respectful of your privacy and BCC everyone. Depending on the level of support, we might be able to get Friends, or the neghborhood association to put something in their newsletters or websites. But first things first... does anyone have any knowledge of the area, prior proposals, etc?
