If you are having difficulties allowing your guests to gain entry to Primrose from you home, here are a couple of pointers. When you respond to a visitor at the gate who has reached you using your personal three-digit code, hold down the "9" key on your telephone until after you hear a slight change in the access tone. The change in tone signals that the gate mechanism has been activated. Punching or depressing the "9" key only briefly may not actuate the opener. Some cordless phones also may not actuate the opener, so you may have to use the "9" key on a fixed, in-line phone.
In general, give out only your personal three-digit house code which visitors will use to call you, rather than the five-character access code. The 3-digit code can be found by scrolling to your name on the communications kiosk at the gate. If you must be away when a delivery or visitor is expected, perhaps you can arrange for a neighbor to provide an alternate response code. The purpose and value of the gate is enhanced if we all protect the access code.
Remote gate openers can be purchased at Doors West, Inc., Radio Shack, and hardware stores, then programmed to open the gate from your vehicle as you enter the development.
