Respite Care in RI-

We are collecting information on respite access and delivery in order to help provide input for the soon to be released recommendation report for the Respite Care Project. It would be very helpful if you could assist in distributing these important surveys to RI Caregivers and respite Providers.

The online Family Caregiver Survey and Provider Survey links can be found on this page:

The Caregiver Alliance of Rhode Island is working together with The Rhode Island Lifespan Respite Care Act Project to conduct this survey to collect useful information from family caregivers and providers that will help to inform recommendations and improvements needed in respite care for all special populations in Rhode Island.

Family Care Community Partnership (FCCP)

The Family Care Community Partnership brings family members, friends, and community based service providers together to build a stronger brighter future with families, by utilizing an individualized care planning process known as wraparound. Since January of 2009, the FCCP has served thousands of children and their families across RI. This is a statewide system of care organized into four regions. East Bay, West Bay, Urban Core, and Northern. To learn more about how to access this program or to make a referral please contact PSN at 467-6855 and ask to speak with a Peer Mentor.

What is wraparound?
Wraparound is an intensive, holistic method of engaging with individuals with complex needs (most typically children, youth, and their families) so that they can live in their homes and communities and realize their hopes and dreams. The Ten Principles of wraparound are as follows:

  • Family Voice and Choice
  • Team Based
  • Natural Supports
  • Collaboration
  • Community Based
  • Culturally Competent
  • Individualized
  • Strengths Based
  • Persistence
  • Outcome Based
