The 3rd annual Transition 101 Parent Conference, for parents, grandparents and guardians of students with disabilities ages 14-21 only, looks to be another great day of information, presentations and tools to help in the transition process.

We’re excited to have Dan Habib join us for the keynote on Friday and for a Q&A the evening before. Dan is the creator of Including Samuel and the new film Who Cares About Kelsey? Habib is the Filmmaker in Residence at the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire.
Including Samuel was broadcast nationwide on public television stations in Fall 2009 and was nominated for an Emmy in 2010. The film has been screened at universities, national conferences and independent theatres across the country. Including Samuel has also been featured on NPR's “All Things Considered”, “Good Morning America”, as well as in the Washington Post and the Boston Globe. The film won the Positive Images in Media award from TASH, an international group committed to the full inclusion of people with disabilities. The DVD is now available with 17 language translations, closed captioning and audio description.
In order to provide great information for teachers, social workers, principals, other professionals working with students with disabilities, the Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities will be hosting the documentary “Who Cares About Kelsey?” and offering a question & answer session with Dan Habib following the screening.
