The Oklahoma City Planning Commission and the Historic Preservation and Landmark Commission granted Putnam Heights historical preservation district status in September 1972. As a historic preservation area, certain rules apply to many renovations and/or improvements to your home or property. The purpose of these guidelines is to maintain and protect the historical integrity of Oklahoma City?’s fine, older neighborhoods.
A certificate of appropriateness from the Historic Preservation and Landmark Commission is generally required prior to making such changes. Copies of the historical preservation guidelines are available by calling 297-1831 or 297-3084 or download them from their Web site: www.okc-cityhall.org
