HOA Committee Notes

A board meeting was held on July 18th. There were several homeowners present to provide input. Several topics were discussed, and a few items were votes upon and approved

Parking

Parking has been the primary source of complaints to the board members up to this point. We chose to install signs along the circular areas to allow for egress for large emergency vehicles. Parking is not allowed along the main north-south drive to allow for two-lane passage instead of forcing people to maneuver around to get by. Apparently some people are strategically parking on the east side of the road now, in areas that aren't really designed to be parking spaces. More signs will be put up.

It is apparent that in most general parking areas, there is always one or two homeowners that have several vehicles and park them without concern or respect to their neighbors. Each unit is entitled to one parking space, along with their garage. People who are using several spaces should be identified, and the Flatirons Company should be contacted so that they can mail a letter to the individual. If this overuse of parking by certain members continues, we will be forced to initiate an assigned parking policy. Please help us out in avoiding these measures.

Additionally, the six parking spaces near the gazebo are to be kept free by the homeowners to allow for visitor parking. Placing signs throughout the complex is expensive, so help us in the attempt to avoid putting up "visitor parking" signs.

Window Well Covers

After much deliberation, the committee agreed to purchase grated window well covers for all units. These will be the same as the ones being installed at Qualin Crossing II. The James Company agreed to pick up half of the cost. This brings the cost to the association/homeowners to approximately $3325.22.
Safety and insurance concerns were the biggest factors in approving this. Homeowners who already have covers will be "substantially" reimbursed. Contact Flatirons for more details on this.
