Redwood Village

I received a call back form the project manager today. He said that the poles would be coming down at the very end of the project. SBC did have issues with SDG&E at the start so they only have about half their line done but will conform by the end of the under grounding. The trenching is almost done. The asphalt patches are temporary until they do all the panels of concrete that are torn up, including the poles when removed. The current estimate for completion is spring of 2004. This is good considering they have almost 200 places to underground, hook up and switch over with so many utilities and contractors involved.

I spoke with Cathy Hardy of SBC and she said the undergrounding project on Streamview is scheduled for completion by January 31, 2004. As this date approaches, and if the poles are still in place, I will touch base with her again to see if they will be able to finish as scheduled.
