[Rego Park] Youth group wants to volunteer to help an individual
The Pastor of the church where the Rego Park Group had their holiday party (and where they would like to have future events) came to me for help for THIS sunday. March 26th. It's a youth group of 7 kids in 6th grade. He said "They were learning about the 5th Commandment (You shall not
murder), this means a lot more than we have to avoid shooting someone, we need to positively help people with their physical needs" The kids get it, and they want to do something.
Do you know of needs in the Rego Park that the youth group could help with on a Sunday evening?
"We're ready to wash toilets, if that's what somebody needs. Or clean something out. Getting groceries for someone: that sounds like a very doable beginning Or do some kind of work that would be helpful and encouraging to someone..personal contact with someone might make for a more memorable starting experience."
The people can be of any religion or none. Young or old it doesn't matter, just remember these are kids.
Maybe a disabled person with no help?
Any ideas?
Email me and let me know ASAP.
Thanks!
