------------------------------------------------------------------

New Yorkers for Parks (NY4P) is the only citywide advocacy
organization working to promote and protect parks and open space in
all five boroughs. NY4P's advocacy includes providing professional
design assistance to community open space projects. Through this
program, NY4P provides communities with a Design Intern to assist
with land use research, support the creation of a new open space, or
aid in designing the renovation of a park.
As an advocacy organization, NY4P believes in the importance of
community-driven design. Therefore, the Design program will assist
in interpreting the needs of your neighborhood and transforming
local visions into tangible plans that can be vital to obtain
funding for park renovation or open space development projects.
Our design program is highly competitive. All submitted proposals
are reviewed and selected by a jury of NY4P Design Advisory Group
members and staff. Selected applicants are invited to present their
proposals to the Advisory Group and final selections are made.
