Saturday, April 29th the Rego Park Group and Lost Battalion Hall
Recreation Center are hosting a Gardening Day from 1:00-3:00 pm on
April 29th. Lost Battalion Hall is located at 93-29 Queens Blvd,
Rego Park. All are welcome! Please contact Lost Battalion Hall at
718-263-1163 for more information.
Join us in a beautification project for the front of the building,
plant care tips, take home projects for all ages. 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
Don't forget there is a PARK in the back of the building!!!!!!!!!!
Early in the morning I will be attending the environmental education
workshop, New York City ReLeaf, given by the New York State
Department of Environmental Conservation's (DEC) Urban and Community
Forestry Program.
Invited guests include DEC Executive Deputy Commissioner Lynette
Stark, Acting Region 2 Director Lou Oliva, New York City Parks
Commissioner Adrian Benepe, and 2005 MacArthur Foundation Fellow
Majora Carter of Sustainable South Bronx, and Liaisons from the
Coalition for Parks and Green Spaces (Like Me) And believe me, the
Commissioners and bosses there will hear from me about the condition
of Rego Parking Lot! After the workshop my Environmental friends and
I will be planting a tree. After Lunch :)
Then I will see you all at Lost Battalion Hall and in the Park!
When you are friendly with your neighbors there, don't forget to say
you are a member of the Rego Park Group, so that those of you that
don't know each other can meet!
You don't need to plant a tree today, you can do some gardening,
plant a flower, water the street trees, or just enjoy the parks or
looking at a tree!
Happy Arbor Day!
