PPPI Fund Allocation to get our park!!! There is an opportunity for us to get this sports park using PPPI funding but WE MUST be heard by the PPPI team. I went to the first meeting and met with the director for several minutes.  She understands and agrees with us but her hands are tied unless we the community give her adequate numbers of requests for this park.  There is no set number but we are competing against other projects so we all need to vote.  Here's how:

You could go to the community meetings and vote BUT IT IS MUCH EASIER TO VOTE ON THE WEBSITE.  Once there, the only way to vote / request our park, one that meets our needs is to go to: http://phoenix.gov/PRL/parksdev.html and click on the 3rd hyperlink (Vote on your priorities for future Parks and Preserve Initiative projects). This will take you to the voting page where you will have to scroll to the bottom to write in, "SPORTS PARK AT 40TH & MCDOWELL".

June 17th Bid Day:  There were NO SUCCESSFUL BIDDERS at the state land auction for the proposed site on June 17th.  Even with the lack of competition that the city said would drive up the price, the city did not place a bid either.  The next auction date is July 31st... a few short weeks away. PLEASE, Call the Mayor and your City Councilman and ask them to do everything in their power to keep this land for a community recreational facility.  Please visit the Support page for contact information.
